Police are today hunting a gang behind a machete attack outside Melbourne's Luna Park that left two teenage boys injured.

The victims were ambushed by a group of attackers outside the St Kilda fun park on Cavell Street around 6.30pm yesterday.

They were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The offenders fled in a grey Land Rover, crashing into another car at the intersection of The Esplanade and Cavell Street before heading off.

No arrests have been made at this stage and the car remains outstanding.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam/CCTV footage or with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential online report.
