BUFFALO, N.Y. — The NFTA has temporarily halted it's metro rail service due to a mechanical issue.

According to social media posts shared by the NFTA, the service has been temporarily paused due to "a mechanical issue."

The NFTA says that buses will run along the rail service's route on Main Street every 20 minutes to accommodate the pause in service.

Underground service from University Station to Allen Medical Campus Station will begin starting Monday October 20 at 5:30 a.m. Shuttle busses will then take passengers down the above ground route from Fountain Plaza Station to Canalside Station.

NFTA says the cause of the issue is under investigation.
