KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) - The Kansas City Chiefs pulled out a clever play during the second quarter of their win over the Las Vegas Raiders that involved some trickery and profanity.
As the Chiefs went for it on 4th & 1 from their own 40, they appeared as if they were trying to just draw the defense offside instead of actually running a play.
During the Chiefs' snap count, the hot mic caught Mahomes saying, "This f***** never f***** works man," while throwing his arms up, as he was referring to NFL offenses' lack of success when trying to draw the defense offside.
Then, seconds after, the Chiefs handed the ball off to Kareem Hunt, who gained three yards for a first down. The play even surprised commentators Jim Nantz and Tony Romo.
