The FBI is investigating after a hunting stand was discovered within sight of Air Force One, prior to President Trump's arrival at the Palm Beach International Airport.

The United States Secret Service was conducting a security sweep of the area before Trump's return to West Palm Beach on Friday.

During the sweep, the Secret Service reported an "item of interest" near the airport, prompting the investigation.

"Yesterday, prior to the President’s return to West Palm Beach, [US Secret Service] discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand within sight line of the Air Force One landing zone," FBI Director Kash Patel said in a statement obtained by ABC News.

The FBI and Secret Service are working with local authorities in the investigation
