MADISON – Wisconsin played some of its best volleyball of the season Sunday afternoon, it just didn’t pay off with a victory.

The Badgers , who are ranked No. 9 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, lost to No. 25 USC in four sets Oct. 19 at the UW Field House. The 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22 setback was Wisconsin’s first at home since a straight set loss to Texas Aug. 31 at the Kohl Center and it dropped the team into a three-way tie for third place in the Big Ten at 6-2 with Indiana and Purdue.

Senior Mimi Colyer (23 kills, 10 digs), redshirt sophomore Una Vajacic (15 kills, 14 digs) and freshman setter Addy Horner (46 assists, 10 digs) recorded double-doubles for the Badgers , who are 13-3 overall.
