LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Competitors from across the United States and Canada gathered in Lansing over the weekend for the 48th annual Michigan Great Lakes International Draft Horse Show.

The show drew approximately 35,000 spectators who watched competitors demonstrate their horses and skills in various events.

Aaron Rice, president of the show, said the event provides valuable insight for competitors.

“It means what breedings working, what we have to do to improve, a real close up on your real competition because they’re all here, and the changes that have to be made for spring and for your breeding program to be able to compete in the future,” Rice said.

The event ranks as the 10th largest draft show in Michigan and the second largest in the greater Lansing area.
