Domestic two-wheeler sales grew 6.7 per cent year-on-year to a record 21.60 lakh units in September. Passenger vehicle sales also hit an all-time high of 3.72 lakh units for the month, even with a lower 4.4 per cent increase. Still more impressive was tractor sales that posted a whopping 45.4 per cent growth to over 1.46 lakh units. Seen together — alongside other indicators such as the value of UPI transactions that were annually up 20.6 per cent for the month — they suggest a revival of consumption sentiment.
