WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - For two years now, KAKE News has aired stories of the conditions in apartments at Emery Gardens with little change. In the past month, two tenants reached out looking to share their story of trying to survive in unlivable conditions.

One of them is 20-year-old Hymilie Henderson, who couldn't wait to move into the complex in May and decorate -- her first apartment and first taste of freedom.
