WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in south Wichita Sunday evening.
Around 8:40 p.m., officers with the Wichita Police Department were called to the intersection of Hydraulic Avenue and Jump Street for a crash involving a pedestrian.
When police arrived, they found a man in his 50s with critical injuries.
"It appears that someone was on foot and may have entered the traffic way and was struck by a motor vehicle," WPD Sergeant Rob Thatcher said. "Everyone stayed on scene. Everyone's cooperating."
At this time, police do not believe speed or alcohol were factors, though the investigation is still in its early stages.
