Just two weeks ago, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a lawsuit against Montrose Regional Health, alleging it discriminated against older staff members.
An EEOC press release stated that the lawsuit isn’t its first investigation of the health system, as the commission won a $400,000 settlement over age discrimination in January 2018.
Although its chief executive officer was out of the office that week, Montrose Regional Health issued a statement “adamantly” denying the claims.
Since then, Montrose Regional Health CEO Jeff Mengenhausen spoke with the Sentinel to detail the organization’s defense and affirm that the legal issues won’t impact patient care or overall operations.
