Walkers has announced it will cease manufacturing a beloved crisp variety that has graced shop shelves since the 1970s. KP Snaps will disappear permanently, leaving devoted crisp enthusiasts heartbroken.

The treats are manufactured at the Newark Road facility in Lincolnshire - and snack lovers have responded with fury. KP, which falls under PepsiCo ownership, explained it was axing the product line to focus on 'top-performing' ranges.

The crisp manufacturer has said that the last remaining stocks of the spicy tomato delicacies will be distributed via wholesalers, shops and digital retailers over the forthcoming weeks, the BBC reports.
