Millions of people across the country have woken up to a mass internet outage as a long list of sites have reportedly gone down, with more getting added as the morning progresses. DownDetector has been inundated with reports from users about numerous popular online platforms not working properly.

The global malfunction started around 8am today (October 20) in the UK. The disruptions are linked to issues seemingly stemming from a problem with Amazon Web Services (AWS), which provides the infrastructure that supports a significant portion of the internet.
