A massive internet outage has hit some of the world’s largest websites with customers of British banks among those affected.

The blackout was caused after issues with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) which sparked problems on dozens of apps.

Downdetector, a website which tracks complaints about online services, showed a spike in reports on Monday morning. New Feature
