Mackenzie Clarke couldn’t hide what she felt.

The Belmont senior midfielder’s red face showed exhaustion from yet another big matchup she was heavily utilized in. The disappointment of losing to Watertown yet again, this time a 2-1 decision in early September that could’ve gone the other way. And whatever she didn’t show of the weight she put on her shoulders for sailing a potential game-tying reverse chip too high on the game’s last play, she muttered it right after.

Nobody on Belmont could point fingers at its all-time leading scorer – a two-time All-Scholastic headed to UConn – for the loss.
