Police have charged a man following an incident in the Moreton district yesterday, October 19.

It will be alleged police were called to reports two men had broken into a Stirling Street, Bridgeman Downs, address around 3.30pm on Sunday.

A 40-year-old male resident, who was home at the time, is alleged to have confronted the men, before he was threatened with a knife.

It is alleged the two men then fled the scene in a white Toyota Corolla.

Following inquiries, police, with assistance from POLAIR, located one of the men, a 30-year-old, at a Strathpine residence around 6.30pm.

It will be alleged the man then climbed a tree to avoid an arrest.

Officers, including negotiators and the police dog squad, worked throughout the night in an attempt to get the man safely out of the tree.
