The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Monday announced its list of 143 candidates for the Bihar assembly polls, hours before the filing of nomination papers for the second and final phase was to be over. The elections are scheduled for November 6 and 11, with counting and declaration of results on November 14.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has been fielded from the Raghopur assembly seat in Vaishali district. Raghopur carries immense political and emotional weight for the Yadav family. The seat has been a stronghold of the RJD, previously represented by party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi. Tejashwi Yadav has held the seat since 2015 and is seeking a third consecutive term.
