With less than two weeks remaining until the memorial service for Jonathan and Matthew Vargas, a local family is leaning on the kindness of the community as they come to terms with an unimaginable loss.

A GoFundMe campaign launched by Luisa Rincon – sister of the deceased – has raised more than $7,000 toward a $10,000 goal to help cover funeral expenses and support the grieving parents, Aurelio and Monica Vargas.

“I really don’t know what to say, I’m lost for words,” Rincon wrote on the fundraiser page. “This is a horrible tragedy, my heart is broken, but God is good overall.”
