SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Two men are dead following a crash that took place early Sunday morning.
According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, the crash happened eight miles south of Canton.
A 1992 Ford pickup was traveling north on Highway 11 near mile marker 47. A 2002 Volkswagen was traveling south and drifted into the north lane where it collided with the pickup. The pickup entered the east ditch, where it rolled onto the roof. The Volkswagen came to rest in the south lane.
Both drivers, a 52-year-old from Alcester and a 49-year-old from Sioux Falls, died from their injuries.
The 52-year-old driver of the pickup was wearing a seatbelt. The 49-year-old driver of the Volkswagen was not.
The crash is still under investigation.
