JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The family of a teenager shot in Jefferson County Sunday morning has provided an update on her condition.
Kimber Mills, an 18-year-old Cleveland High School student, was one of four people shot at a party off of Highway 75.
Mills sister, Ashley Mills, said that doctors only gave her days and that the family is waiting on her body to do what it needs to do.
“Once they declare her brain dead, she will be an organ donor,” Ashley said, adding that the family was told there were no surgeries that could help save her life.
Kimber is in critical condition, but not on life support. The family said she is breathing on her own, but with the assistance of a breathing tube.
