KAILUA, Hawaii (Island News) – Multiple agencies are on the lookout for a paddler after a single-person outrigger canoe was found offshore of the Kailua Beach Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) reported at approximately 1:22 p.m. that the canoe was found offshore of the Kailua Beach Park near Flat Island.
Multiple agencies such as Ocean Safety, Coast Guard, Marine Corps Base Water Front Ops, and DLNR began searching by land, air, and ocean from the Bellows Air Force Station to the Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
No other details have been provided at this time.
