Keir Starmer has reiterated the UK’s support for Ukraine in the wake of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s latest bust-up with Donald Trump .

The prime minister branded Russian president Vladimir Putin a “tyrant” ahead of another meeting of the coalition of the willing, which is made up of countries backing Kyiv, on Friday.

His comments came amid reports that Trump told Zelenskyy to hand over Ukrainian land to Russia or face being “destroyed”.

According to the Financial Times , the US president shouted and swore during an angry meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart in the White House last Friday.

The talks took place two days after Trump held a telephone conversation with Putin in which the pair agreed to meet in Budapest for fresh peace talks.
