A death metal band — one formed mainly as satire — has disbanded after nearly 20 years together.
Alas, Metal Injection is reporting that Cannabis Corpse — the Richmond, Virginia-based, cannabis-themed death metal group that likes to poke fun at the metal sphere — posted a very brief announcement on Facebook that it has called it quits.
“Cannabis Corpse has officially disbanded,” the post reads . “Thanks to those of you who came out and supported. 2006-2025.”
The caption to the post adds: “Keep smoking friends. Goodbye.”
According to Lambgoat, the band was originally founded by bassist Philip “Landphil” Hall along with his brother Josh “HallHammer” Hall. And yes, their name takes inspiration from metal compadres Cannibal Corpse
