MYRTLE BEACH, SC (LOOTPRESS) – A 59-year-old woman was arrested Saturday after displaying a firearm near a planned protest in Myrtle Beach.

According to the Myrtle Beach Police Department (MBPD), officers observed the woman brandishing a gun from her vehicle just before 2:15 p.m. while traveling near the demonstration.

The incident occurred at a “No Kings” event.

The suspect, identified as Mary Moriarty of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, was taken into custody without incident. She faces charges of pointing and presenting a firearm.

Moriarty appeared in court Sunday morning, where she was placed on a $50,000 bond.
