Man attacked with crossbow at Bedford Inn Motel

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating an attack at the Bedford Inn Motel in Erie.

On Saturday, Oct. 18, at 11:30 a.m., central dispatch received reports that a man had been shot with a bow and arrow and was losing consciousness. Rescue personnel arrived at the scene, stabilized the victim, a 42-year-old man from Toledo, and transported him to a local hospital.

The deputies discovered that the victim had been shot with a crossbow by someone he knew, who was also staying at the motel. The detective bureau arrived on the scene to continue the investigation, which led to executing multiple search warrants in motel rooms to search for more evidence. The crossbow believed to be the one the attacker used was found during the search.
