ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. ( WSFA ) - A suspect is in custody after a shooting in Alexander City left a man injured, according to police.

Authorities say officers responded to the 500 block of Glenwood Road on Sunday where they found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was airlifted to a hospital in Montgomery for treatment.

Investigators arrived on the scene and the suspect was identified by police as Jar’stavious Black, 28. He was later arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Black is currently being held in the Tallapoosa County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.

Alex City police say their investigation is ongoing, and no additional details are available at this time.
