(CNN) - Gas prices are inching lower.
AAA says the current national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline could reach the $3 mark for the first time in four years.
In the past week, the average has dropped more than five cents a gallon to $3.05.
The travel agency says several factors are behind the drop including lower demand, falling crude oil prices and a cheaper winter-blend gas at the pump.
Also, hurricane season has not been impacting oil refineries or drilling along the Gulf.
