Three people were injured in a Northwest Portland crash that sent two cars careening down an embankment near train tracks on Sunday, fire officials said.

Firefighters arrived at the scene on Northwest Marina Way around 12:30 p.m. and spent about 15 minutes extricating the injured from the cars, Portland Fire & Rescue reported. The victims suffered “a range of injuries, thankfully none critical,” and were taken to a nearby hospital, according to the Fire Bureau.

Rail traffic was stopped so that firefighters and medical first responders could access the crash site from the across the tracks.

The names of the injured have not been released, and the cause of the crash is being investigated.
