Police in Vermont say they are searching for a missing Middlebury College student who was last seen on Friday night.

Middlebury police said in a social media post Sunday that they are asking for the public's help in finding 21-year-old Lia Smith, who was reported missing earlier in the day. She is a current Middlebury College student and was last seen on campus on Friday around 9 p.m.

Middlebury College followed up with a social media post a few hours later, saying they are working closely with police and have been in touch with Smith's family and friends to offer support and learn more about her recent activities and whereabouts.
