An Eastpointe man accused in a fatal stabbing has been ordered to stand trial, officials said.

Nico Trevon Nettles, 27, was bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court by a district court judge on Friday, the county prosecutor's office said. His next court hearing is scheduled for Oct. 27.

Nettles is charged with second-degree murder, authorities said. He remains housed at the Macomb County Jail on a $2 million bond, they said.

If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.

His attorney was not immediately available for comment on Monday.

Authorities allege the defendant stabbed Rashid Aliakba, in the chest on May 12 during a fight at his Eastpointe home. Officials said the home was in the 17000 block of Toepfer Drive, a half mile north of Eight Mile Road and between Gratiot Avenue and Ke
