MONROE, WI (WKOW) — The Green County Humane Society (GCHS) rescued several starving dogs in Lafayette County on October 16.
The Lafayette County Sheriff's Department discovered 15-20 severely malnourished German Shepherds on a rural property.
“We didn’t know exactly what we were walking into,” said GCHS Executive Director Erin Emery. “But we knew we had to be ready to act quickly and compassionately.”
All animals, including six adult German Shepherds, a litter of six puppies, another litter of five puppies, and a kitten, were transported to GCHS.
“These animals were severely underweight but are receiving small, frequent meals and nutritional support,” said Emery.
