Indy-area restaurants grapple with break-ins, find strength in neighbors

Carlos Hutchinson was in his home recovering from a recent surgery when he learned his restaurant had been vandalized for the third time in less than a month.

What began with a damaged window screen in late August at Hutchinson's Tlaolli on the Near Eastside had snowballed into stolen copper pipes and wires, a damaged exhaust system and a fire on an exterior wall that shorted the electrical wiring inside.
