ATLANTA — The Atlanta Police Department notified media outlets Monday afternoon that they'll be holding a press conference on an incident at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport they expect to have national significance.

According to a brief notice from APD, the press conference will be held at 3 p.m. at APD headquarters on Peachtree Street.

The notice did not describe the nature of the incident. 11Alive's Cody Alcorn is at the airport and said that the FBI is also there.

"We expect this incident to receive national media attention," it stated.

Earlier Monday at Hartsfield-Jackson, long security lines were reported amid what the airport said was a staffing shortage. The airport gave no indication of a specific incident, however.
