WOODSTOCK, Ga. — The city of Woodstock says a "new upscale hotel" will be coming to its downtown area.

In a release issued on Friday, the city said it had signed a letter-of-intent with a developer, Southern Ventures, on the project. The release said it would be a six-story, 130-room hotel to be built across from Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater.

Woodstock said Southern Ventures was also the master developer behind Woodstock City Center. Valor Hospitality Partners will manage the property.
