DES MOINES, Iowa -- Over 60 employees from Iowa Workforce Development have been furloughed due to the federal government shutdown.

The IWD confirmed that roughly 67 federally paid workers from the agency's Unemployment Insurance and Labor Market Information Divisions were furloughed on Monday. According to the IWD, most of the workers will be reduced to just working two days a week, while some won't work at all, until the shutdown ends.

The IWD released a statement to WHO 13 about the furlough, which says in part:
