NORWALK, Ohio — A Norwalk man recently released from prison is facing multiple charges after police say he assaulted and abducted a hotel employee Saturday afternoon before fleeing and later crashing a vehicle.

According to Norwalk police, officers were called about to the Econo Lodge at 342 Milan Ave. at approximately 3:21 p.m. after the manager reported a female employee ran from a hotel room saying “there was violence.” Witnesses told the manager they saw a man running from the same room moments later.

Investigators said the woman was located and gave a statement consistent with surveillance video that showed a man entering the room, followed by sounds of screaming. The footage then showed both the man and woman fleeing in opposite directions.
