Starting the year with a win in the first match of the season can be a spark for many teams. The Emporia High Unified Bowling team is coming off their first home meet that saw them come away with the victory. They hope to continue the strong start with an early Senior Day coming up this week for the team.

The home opener at Flint Hills Lanes saw three Emporia High teams compete at the meet. The team of Angela Alvarado, Jeremiah Weidner, Taylor McKay, and Hayden Thexton coming away with first place with a total of 661 points. Emporia would see the team of Harry Henrikson, Hayden Williams, Sophia Hill, and Jacob Kamprath finish in third place with 603 points. Lastly, the final Emporia team of Sammie Dubree, Parker Amos, Mason Williams, and Ben Sonnakolb finished in fifth place with 551.
