RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A Durham man was arrested on I-40 East Sunday night after deputies and state troopers detained him for an outstanding assault warrant and found cocaine in his possession , according to the Davie County Sheriff's Office.
At approximately 10:22 p.m. on Oct. 19, Davie County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to assist North Carolina State Highway Patrol at Mile Marker 167, where troopers were dealing with a confrontation between a trooper and a vehicle passenger on I-40.
The passenger, later identified as 32-year-old Dominique Gallant Diaz of the 500 block of North Maple Street, Durham, was taken into custody for an active simple assault warrant from Orange County.
