A tropical wave (AL98) in the eastern Caribbean Sea is making lots of showers and storms, mostly east of the wave. It's moving west at 15-20 mph, but it will slow down over the next few days as it moves into the central Caribbean. Advertisement

Conditions in the atmosphere and ocean are becoming more favorable for development. That means a tropical depression or storm could form later this week. The storm's name would be Melissa.
