EAST GRANBY, Conn — A Bloomfield man died after a car collision in East Granby Sunday afternoon, according to Connecticut State Police.

The crash happened in the area of 269 South Main St. at the intersection of Spoonville Road at 2:53 p.m.

Investigators learned that an Infiniti Q70I 3.7 Luxe was traveling north on Route 187 (South Main Street) when it went off the road and into the grass shoulder on the east side of the road.

The Infiniti then went down a slight embankment. State police said the driver side door collided with a tree before the car came to a stop.

The driver, who state police identified as Alan Rosenthal, 75, of Bloomfield, was found unresponsive in the car.
