Downtown Newnan is gearing up for a full week of fall fun, beginning with the annual Spirits & Spice Festival this Saturday, Oct. 25, from 2 to 7 p.m.
The event will feature live music, local vendors and the popular chili cook-off, with opportunities for restaurants and amateur chefs to compete in both meat and vegetarian categories. Winners in each division will receive a $250 cash prize. Downtown business owners can participate for free.
Street closures for the event will begin at 11 a.m. and include South Court, North Court, West Court, Jackson Street (from Madison to North Court) and West Washington Street (from Jackson to Brown). Streets are expected to reopen by 8 p.m., though South Court typically reopens earlier once the chili supply runs out, usually around 4 p.m.
