It’s time to eat, drink and get spooky.

Downtown Newnan’s most flavorful fall tradition returns Saturday, Oct. 25, when the 5th Annual Spirits & Spice Festival takes over the square from 2 to 7 p.m.

Festivalgoers can stroll the Downtown Spirits Trail and sip specialty cocktails from participating locations, taste dozens of creative chili recipes during the Spirits & Spice Chili Cookoff, and hop aboard the Twisted Trolley Tour for a ghostly ride through Newnan’s historic streets.

Live music, a craft market and children’s activities will round out the day’s entertainment, making the event “eerie-sistible” for all ages.

The chili cookoff remains the centerpiece of the festival, highlighting a competitive lineup of amateurs and local restaurateurs serving both meat and vegetarian entries.
