Oakland County can go ahead with its prosecution of a Livonia man charged with threatening to hang a local election official as U.S. Supreme Court Brett Kavanaugh declined to grant an emergency application to stop it on Oct. 20.

The Supeme Court press office notified the Free Press of Kavanaugh's decision, which was without explanation.
