GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - For the fifth time, all three eighth-grade middle school volleyball teams met up for the Grand Island Public Schools Volleyball Showcase.
The Barr Bulldogs, Walnut Wildcats, and Westridge Cougars all faced off one last time before they traded their jerseys in for one from Grand Island Senior High.
“It’s so special because the end goal is that these girls are all playing together at Senior High, and so, it’s a good way to kind of wrap up the season,” said Kim Luthy, Walnut Volleyball coach. “Everybody gets to see each other again, and it’s a little bit more laid back.”
The games played in the Walnut gym went beyond an ace or a block; the girls were playing for a cause.
Each patron was encouraged to bring an item to be donated to Hope Harbor, a non-profit that
