SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead on Friday night.

The Spokane Police Department says officers responded to the area of East Mission Avenue and North Cincinnati Street on Friday, Oct. 17 around 7 p.m. for a reported shooting.

On Tuesday morning the Spokane County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 46-year-old Shawn Cranford. The ME said Cranford died from gunshot wounds to the torso and right lower extremity and the manner was deemed homicide.

Emma Shogren regularly walks her friend's dog, Roxy, at night near where she lives in the Logan neighborhood. But now, she's questioning when and where they'll go walking in the future.
