CLEMSON — Clemson’s leading receiver, Bryant Wesco Jr. , is out for the year with a back injury suffered in the SMU game.
It was, however, the “best-case scenario,” Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said on Oct. 20, because there was no fracture in his spine. Wesco has been released from a hospital in Greenville, Swinney added, and the sophomore should make a full recovery.
“All indications are he's going to be OK,” Swinney said.
Swinney wasn’t overly specific about the nature of the injury but said it wasn’t a Justyn Ross or Mike Williams -type of situation, which were other instances where Clemson receivers dealt with serious spinal injuries requiring surgery.
