Two men were found dead inside a Sparks home last week in what appears to be a murder-suicide, police say.

Sparks police responded about 7:14 p.m. Oct. 15 to a home in the 1500 block of Satellite Drive after someone reported finding two men dead inside. The person told officers they had gone to check on one of the residents after not hearing from him for several days.

Officers found evidence that multiple gunshots had been fired inside the residence, along with several firearms.

Based on evidence collected so far, investigators believe both men died as a result of an apparent murder-suicide. The men were not related but lived together, police say.

The deceased were identified as James Smith, 78, and Jaleel Martin, 31.

No further details have been released.
