The Southern Nevada Health District confirmed Monday, Oct. 20, that a visitor who traveled through Harry Reid International Airport last week tested positive for measles, possibly exposing others.
Nevada has not had a confirmed measles case in a resident since 2018, according to local health officials. Nationally, measles activity has increased sharply this year.
SNHD said the traveler, who was visiting from out of state, spent time in Terminal 3 at the E Gates the morning of Oct. 13 before boarding a flight around 8 a.m. The person reported visiting no other locations in Clark County.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said 1,596 cases had been confirmed across 42 states as of Oct. 14 — the highest total since 1992, when more than 2,100 case
