LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Louisville Metro Alcoholic Beverage Control has suspended the liquor license of Double Deuce Bar and Grill in the California neighborhood after two women were shot Saturday night.

The bar is among six across the metro area to face suspensions over the past year; Louisville has roughly 1,700 bars, according to Metro ABC. Baxter’s Bar and Grill is also among those previously suspended.

“This is a strategy. Shutting down businesses that facilitate promote crime is a strategy within the mayor plan. That plan has three aspects to it prevention, intervention and enforcement,” said Misty Wright, the city’s executive director of community safety.
