CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Chesapeake Sheriff's race has quickly become one of the most closely watched races, after the incumbent sheriff refused to concede following his loss in the Republican primary.
Now, Sheriff Dave Rosado has not only left the Republican party, but has started his own write-in campaign to defend his position against Republican challenger, Wallace Chadwick.
But instead of feeling nervous, Rosado told 13News Now he has never felt more confident.
"There is an energy now that surrounds this campaign that I didn't feel on election night," said Rosado. "When the numbers started coming in, I had so many people reaching out to me, telling me, don't give in, don't give up, we are behind you."
