Heavy winds sent three boats crashing up onto the rocks in Nanaimo’s harbour on Saturday night, and officials are still trying to locate who owns them.

Nanaimo boater Jim Chisolm shook his head in frustration Monday, as he got his first look at the three new derelict boats that crashed onto the rocks of Saysutshun Island on Saturday.

Chisolm said he is worried about their impact, because past wrecks have taken over a year to be removed from the same rocks.

“Its ridiculous that the owners aren’t held to account, especially the ones that are under the water like that,” said Chisolm.
